Serving visitors and the organisation behind the park

A visitor planning a trip, a film crew applying for a permit and a supplier searching for a tender arrive with different needs. Pace's relationship with iSimangaliso developed across both public-facing services and internal communication, starting with a staff portal and extending to the website, mobile applications and subsequent redevelopment.

From staff communication to visitor services

The internal communications platform went live in 2021 and supported staff onboarding, notifications and newsletters. The public website launched in April 2022, followed by Android and iOS applications. Online forms provided routes for film, wedding, event, activity and coastal-vehicle permit applications, alongside visitor content and newsflashes.

Restoring the depth behind the website

The 2025–2026 redevelopment combined stakeholder consultation, Figma design, a CMS-driven website, online forms and document architecture. Content restoration and procurement-document recovery rebuilt material that visitors and suppliers still needed. Responsive testing, technical SEO, staff training and ongoing publishing formed part of the programme.

Built to be operated, not just launched

The work connects front-end presentation with content management, hosting and support. A tourism authority needs to update visitor information and public notices after launch, not only during a redesign. Pace's successive programmes addressed those everyday publishing needs alongside the larger changes to the platform.

THE DELIVERY
